I would love a pretty laundry room like this. The laundry room I had when I was growing up was about 35 square feet, with a washer, dryer, cabinet, water heater, giant sink, and pantry thrown in. It had this astroturf carpet that was bright green and a squeaky wooden door that folded in on itself. I did love it though, and have good memories of it. We kept our hamsters in there, when we had them. I spilled coffee grounds on the carpet once with my friend and my mother made us wait on the dry until she had picked out every last ground. That pantry was where all the best snacks were hidden.
Maybe places and homes don’t have to be beautiful to be loved. I know I loved my house growing up, for all it’s seven rooms and rotting beams. For my child mind, it was a mansion.
